about

OK, I’m not a dancer. But I also know that life isn’t a spectator sport. This tune is for all of us that hesitate to seize the moment. Later is always too late. It might be a brilliant idea that could really take off. It might be just taking the risk and changing your job or your house or even your friends. If you think it’s worthwhile, it’s worth giving a chance. Come on and dance!

lyrics

Round and round the circle goes.
Where it stops nobody knows.
Every step could bring us closer to romance.
Come on and dance.

Tried to get my courage up to talk with you,
But I was sure you’d turn and walk away.
All at once, you came to me
And asked me what my name might be.
That’s when I heard the band begin to play.
‘Said will you dance?

Chorus
Come on and dance, take a chance.
We can’t miss this fine occasion.
Times like this may never come again.
Round and round the circle goes.
Where it stops nobody knows.
Every step could bring us closer to romance.
Come on and dance.

Must have been half crazy thinking I could dance.
There I was with you out on the floor,
Struggling to find the beat
And trying to tame my two left feet
And making moves that I ain’t seen before.
But still we danced!
(chorus)

Sure good things come for those who wait...
But I’m not one to hesitate.
Might not ever be a second chance!
(chorus)

about

Durand Robinson Birmingham, Alabama

Telling stories is as natural as breathing. Life is full of them. I go by Durand instead of Noel because of a story. I've moved more than twenty times. There are lots of stories behind that. I've lived around the world, learning stories.
Songwriting isn’t a skill that’s separated from life. Music comes from living and observing life around me. That’s why I keep a blog… breadcrumbs for my memory.
