The greatest things in life require commitment. I am reminded daily. My life wouldn’t have been the same without Ruth. Many, like my uncle, gave their lives while serving us and our country overseas. And my decision to live and work cross-culturally came in part due to a story that’s followed me my whole life: a bright young man serving a forgotten people in Ecuador was killed the day I was born. His words are an inspiration to me. “He is no fool to give what he cannot keep in order to gain what he can never lose.”
